Their research intersects with the focal areas of a range of University Research Institutes and Centres: The Institute for Culture and Society, The MARCS Institute, The Religion and Society Research Centre, and the Writing and Society Research Centre. The Humboldt Chair of Digital Humanities and Department of Computer Science at the University of Leipzig is looking for candidates for two possible collaborating research groups, one focused on reinventing scholarly communication for Greek and Latin, as a case study for historical languages in general, with the other helping the University Library develop methods to manage and visualize billion of words and associated annotations of many kinds. Details of the funding are being finalized but positions will ideally start in May 2013 and with an initial one year contract that could be extended to a second year that could include one semester residence at a US university.
King´s College London, Department of Digital Humanities, Centre for e-Research (CeRch) is seeking a Research Developer in dynamic web development including implementation of front-end interfaces. The Researcher will work across two major European Commission funded research infrastructure projects: the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI) (www.ehri-project.eu) and Data Service Infrastructure for the Social Sciences and the Humanities (Dasish) (www.dasish.eu) projects. Her/his role will be to analyse research practices and translate and implement these in a Virtual Research Environment and research registries.

Assistant Professor in Poetics/Digital Humanities. The English Department at the University of Connecticut, Storrs Campus, invites applications for a FT (9-mo.) tenure-track faculty position at Assistant Professor level, with a specialty in poetics and a strong interest in digital humanities, to start Fall 2013. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in English or other appropriate field; expertise in poetics and digital humanities; a record of, or strong potential for, distinguished scholarship and effective teaching and mentoring at the graduate/undergraduate levels; and evidence of engagement in institutional and/or professional service.
The UC Humanities Research Institute is seeking a talented and motivated individual with diverse experience in academic research and administration in the digital humanities. The Project Manager for Digital Humanities Research and Engagement will be responsible for helping to coordinate the HASTAC Digital Media and Learning (DML) Competition as well as assisting in the development of programs and funding for a UC-wide digital humanities initiative.
CHANGE is an interdisciplinary research group that aims to push the boundaries of design and the use of digital environments in learning and communication. CHANGE investigates learning and communication with digital representations in changing contexts, including schools, museums and workplace settings. The CHANGE group specialises in learning, cognition and design based on the social and cultural perspective. Key sociocultural concepts form the foundation of the analyses of the relations between learning, digital representations, the social practice of use and interaction. For one of the positions, studies dealing with learning by use of digital environments in or related to educational settings will be given priority (digital environments are defined in a broad sense and can include social media, games, etc., and domains can be science, social science, project work, or art). Applicants with qualifications in both qualitative and quantitative methods are encouraged to apply. Studies on the historical development of information and communication technologies will also be of relevance for one of the positions. Here applicants can apply theoretical perspective within the domains of science and technology studies.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) seeks to hire additional faculty for its cluster hire in digital humanities. In this second phase of our effort, we hope to hire two or three additional tenure-track assistant professors to further propel this signature program. Field of expertise is open within the humanities. Preference will be given to candidates engaged in the building of digital projects, archives, editions, models, tools, and other creative scholarly works in the digital medium. Initial interviews will be conducted via Skype.
Candidates should be accomplished digital humanists able to contribute to a thriving interdisciplinary initiative and to a home department. Candidates must provide evidence of successful teaching and an active research agenda. PhD required by August 2013. The participating departments seek specialists who would contribute to UNL’s research profile and teaching capacity in digital humanities.
